iPhone boots Linux OS!

Both for the first than the second-generation iPhone has been ported Linux Kernel 2.6.

With a new boot loader called OpeniBoot, start the device alternatively known under the Apple OS or the free multi-platform multi-user operating system Linux. Can input commands via keyboard on the dock interface will be discontinued - this first build still contains no drivers for the network, touch, sound, accelerometers or baseband.

Generally, I would like my greatest respect to those who pronounce that every electronic box penguin distributions can unterjubeln. Without tech demo background, it is still not as an alternative to the iPhone operating system to use, as you ipodlinux already provides.

Nevertheless. Screws on the thing. Chopping at the bottom of ‘low-level Level’ and’ reverse engineered ‘which only goes - you have my blessing!
